I remember an Internet Service Provider who uses the line "who knows? You might even become famous overnight!" in promoting their services. Maybe this was the first thing that attracted me in authoring my own home page. Why? Who doesn't want to be famous, right? Of course it's not being famous in the "true" sense of the word, but the probability that others from the other side of the globe reading about you is simply overwhelming.
Maybe, there is more to it in writing a personal home pages than simply getting the kicks out of it. Maybe there more in browsing the net than just mere downloading or getting information. Maybe all such home pages are looking glasses......waiting to be used, by someone even a thousand miles away, to view the world in a whole new perspective, in a whole new light.
Maybe home pages aren't just digital programs that we use to entertain ourselves. Maybe we make it more than just sequencial bits of data by using it to promote greater understanding of other people from different cultures, from different places and from different ways of llife.
By then, your PC becomes more like a tool of the heart rather than just of the brain.
